Friends,

If you’ve been following the health insurance reform debate, you’ve probably heard a lot of misinformation. You aren’t alone. The same people who always try to scare Americans about health insurance reform are doing it again. And this month, Americans will be bombarded with ads from special interests that have a stake in preserving the status quo: Rising health costs, diminishing security and health insurance industry practices that deny people coverage when they are sick.

We want to be sure you have the facts. Today, the White House launched a new video that dispels some of the rumors about health insurance reform and sets the record straight. You can watch the video by clicking here. www.whitehouse.gov

We also want to take your questions and hear your thoughts on health insurance reform. On Friday, I’ll be moderating a webcast with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and other top HHS officials where we’ll discuss how health insurance reform will benefit all Americans and take on some of the myths you may have heard. The webcast will begin at 1:00 PM EDT and you can watch it at www.healthreform.gov.

During the webcast, we’ll be answering your questions. Questions can be emailed to hhsstudio@hhs.gov or submitted via Twitter by using the hashtag #HCRQ.

The President wants health insurance reform that will let you keep what you have if you like it, lower costs, protect you from insurance rules that deny coverage if you get sick, and assure quality and affordable health care for all Americans. With your help and your support, we will achieve this goal.

Sincerely,

Linda Douglass
White House Office of Health Reform

CaregiverMary: thanks for providing that information. Knowledge is crucial for this. This should be very helpful in finding out truth from political ads.
