Have been pondering and wondering if anyone has experienced this. Yesterday my husband had a really good day with speech and swallowing, but then we went out for his walk and he did terrible. He could hardly stay on his feet and was really stiff. When we got back to the house, I checked the stimulator and found that the left side was turned off. Now I am wondering if the speech/swallowing would be better every day w/o the stimulator. Thinking about calling the neuro to see if we can turn it off for eating and back on when he wants to exercise. Anyone have any info on this or personal experience?

The last time the neuro made adjustments to my spouse's DBS, he has had horrible drooling until last week - it just went away on its own. We checked his devices and they are both on. Go figure. ?? The only difference is that DBS spouse is on a CPAP machine now.
