Have any of you heard of using electric shock therapy (ECT) to treat symptoms of Parkinson's? My husband's psychiatrist is suggesting we try this. Hubby is currently in-patient (2nd day) at Vandy Psych hospital, under observation and treatment of neuropsychiatrist and Movement Disorder Specialist~trying to tweak meds for both. Hubby has major "wearing-off" spells (PD) along with depression, impulsivity and hyperactivity causing him to have very poor decision making skills, plus he apt to wander.

I appreciate any insight on the use of ECT.

Funny you should mention this....here's a thread on another forum about this very thing with current research...sounds quite promising. Let us know how it works out for you, hope it helps!
