I am looking for ideas on ways to thicken liquids such as drinks or soups without having to buy expensive commercial/medical thickening agents.

what do you use if your PWP has swallowing problems with thin liquids?

In soups, a great thickener is potato flakes.

I wonder if a little sugar free jello mixed into cold drinks (juices mostly) would help thicken them? You would have to do this ahead of time, but it might work.

If it is something warm a little cornstarch mixed in water added to thin liquid then heat until it thickens. Flour will do the same thing. If you are needing an instant type thickener instant pudding works.
