Hi, All

We had a follow-up with our PD specialist yesterday. Long story short, my husband cannot tolerate anti-depressants, or any of the dopamine accelorants - as they cause mania in him. So, the doc decided to put him on the Exelon patch to help with his daytime sleepiness and initiation issues. He is hoping that he will get the same benefit from the Exelon without the side-effects (mania) caused by the other usual drugs.

Anyone had experience with Excelon?

I'm not sure why the Exelon patch?? It is for dementia or Alzheimer's isn't it?

The Exelon patch actually is also indicated for dementia related to PD.

My dad used it for a while and it seemed to help his mental state. But after a while it increased his tremors to the point where it really bothered him, so we discontinued it. It's worth a try!
