My husband has been taking speech therapy for 6 weeks and today they are assessing him again to see if we continue.
We are trying to get the volume up.
If we don't continue with the therapist I will still try to do the exercises at home as I don't want him to loose the ability to read.
Why does this disease take so much away from a person.
I can deal with most symptoms but the loss of speech is more difficult as half the time I have to guess what he wants to say.
If I have talked about this subject before, please forgive me, but how do you deal with this symptom?

My PWP has volume issues when he is tired and trouble finding words. Luckily that's it, for now. Keep us posted on how the therapy is working.

It was a 6 week course but actually we went 7 weeks.
The main therapist assessed him yesterday and his volume was up a little.
She had him speak into a microphone to measure the volume but the darn computer kept giving her problems.
She is trying to get the program changed.
We will continue on our own with the exercises and reading as you don't stop just because we don't go to the hospital to see the therapist.
I think I could make him do the exercise better than her it seems.
