On another site there was a discussion about what PD folks are experiencing and trying to alleviate this symptom. Someone shared this recipe he was given by a GI doctor in the Vets hospital: equal parts of prune juice, bran (wheat or oat) and applesauce. Mix well and enjoy. We mixed 3 TBS of each together. The outcome has been amazing. The first two days, nothing. But by day 3, his bowels responded. After years of problems, he is now regular. He has reduced his fiber supplements and drinks because he was going too much. No more MiraLax either. It is worth a try. Give it a week and play around with the quantity to consume to get results. Good luck

Yes. We call it bran pudding. And when my husband was having constipation problems it was a real help. However, we now do 1 dose of Miralax each morning, and constipation is a thing of the past.

What a difference it makes just to have the innards functioning properly!

Each of us is so different in our responses to foods and medications. Interesting that Miralax works for your husband and not mine. Bran pudding is a good name.
