Topic Dementia? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

My husband has become pretty scattered. He says he has 30 projects going on at the same time and spends a few minutes on one, then starts on another one. He can't focus on one.
This is new for him.

He has an appointment with his Neuro in a couple of weeks and I wondered if this sounds like dementia and if I should bring it up with his doctor. Any feedback appreciated.

Absolutely bring it up with the doctor. It may be an example of "punding," which is an obsessive symptom (fixing, arranging, etc.etc.) that is sometimes associated with dopamine agonists.

Is he seeing movement disorders specialist? Community neurologists and general family doctors do NOT necessarily know the nuances of parkinsons and parkinson's meds.

Keep us posted?

Thanks VV. She's the doctor he sees for Parkinson's. I'm not sure if she's a movement disorder specialist.
