Topic Anyone using a Hoyer lift? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

We finally have been able to get a home health agency involved. They will have a nurse, OT and PT come out to the house for a set amount of weeks paid by Medicare. First off the OT feels I should get a Hoyer Lift since my hubby cannot get in and out of bed on his own and is having a difficult time lately standing on his own. I'm really not ready for this. It seems like we're coming to the end of the struggle when we need this lift. I watched a video on how to use one and it looks like a difficult process and takes quite a while to get up and moving. Sometimes the more help and people that come into our lives the more the PD slaps me in the face of reality.
