Hi evryone, I was just wondering when is it time to increase the dosage of your medice ? currently im using three tablets ( sinament,norflex and artain) one table per day. But now its seems it does not work in the afternoon. i'm forced to take three tablets in the afefter noon if im to do my work as usual. please advise. thanks yrs peter lumon68@yahoo.com |

| Unfortuneately I don't think it's time to increase any pill until or unless a physician has prescribed! I'd be running my mother back to the doc or waiting for a regularly scheduled visit and making diary notes in the meantime. |

| I think it is time for my Dad to increase something in his medication. His speech is worse and his mobility is more difficult for him. He does not want to increase anything for fear it will no longer be affective for him. I explained to him that is not how it works but he does not want me bringing up to his neurologist. I feel he is 76 years old, what is he waiting for. Any thoughts, thank you, Mary |

Lule, many people take way more than one Sinemet per day, so I would encourage you to talk with your doctor. Mary, as suggested by many people here, you can prepare a short note (bullet points are good) to give to the neurologist with the issues you have observed that your dad doesn't want you to bring up. Depending on the stage of the disease, increasing doses may improve symptoms. In the late stages, there aren't enough dopamine neurons left in the brain for the meds to do anything therapeutic, and at that point it's often better to decrease rather than increase the meds for the PD symptoms (like Sinemet or Mirapex). Hopefully the neurologist will be able to make that assessment. |

| susger8, thanks for your reply. It is appreciated. I will start making notes and bring my concerns to the neurologist's attention. My Dad always wants me to keep my mouth shut at his appointments though. Not sure why. I tell him that the more info the doctor has the better he can treat him. Thank you, Mary |
