The duodopa pump which delivers sinemet directly into the duodenum has been used in Europe for some time. It is now being studied here in the US for FDA approval. I understand that it is great for advanced PD and there is no need for other drugs which are often prescribed to boost sinemet. this method of delivery provides a more even distribution of sinemet into the body. I'm going to pursue this for my husband but I wonder what the implications would be when the feeding tube issue comes up. The surgical approach I think is identical. Please comment.
