I looked up sweating with Parkinson's Disease and found the following sites;

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14673882?dopt=AbstractPlus

http://ucanhealth.com/topics/?T=secondary_symptoms_parkinsons_disease

I posted this in response to another thread on temperature fluctuations. Sweating is common with P.D. I would also urge a look at the second web site as it addresses many of the questions brought up on the forum. I hope You find it useful.

Bob I'm surprised you didn't have a larger number of responses to your question on sweating as it is a common secondary symptom. Take care, best of luck and hang in there.

For what it's worth, my PD hubby often breaks out in a sweat about 15 minutes after he takes one of his main PD drugs, especially after the dose late in the day. I think it's either stalevo or sinemet which causes it. He becomes uncomfortably hot and the sweat on his forehead is visible. Even if it's a chilly day when this happens, he has to turn on the air conditioner to get rid of the discomfort. The intensity of the sweating usually passes in about ten minutes. At other times in the day, his hands are very, very cold to the touch, but he's not even aware of it and therefore not bothered by it. He's 63 and has had PD for seven years.

My husband has been sweating profusely for about 10 years. It is usually a sign of wearing off from his past dose. I'm so used to the sweaty clothes that it doesn't bother me anymore. In fact, if I sit where he has been my back will be wet from his place on the sofa. I guess it's one of those parkinson's moments that we share now. Yuk!
