I don't know if anyone else thinks this is a problem (ya I know it's a small problem to have ---- I wish that this was the only problem I had) but thought I'd bring it up anyhow: When I read postings on this site some people seem to like to use short forms, and half the time I don't know who they are talking about. Maybe it's because I'm an old geezer as I don't see anyone else complaining, but: Examples: Poster talks about their PH, DL, or FL or etc, etc. Please state the full description, at least at first, to pacify this old geezer. Thanks a million! ps: I miss jockdoc's postings --- where are you jockdoc? And, how are you doing? |

Ditto for me: What do PH, DL, FL (or DH, another one I can think of) mean, exactly? I'm 38 years old, and I don't consider myself a "geezer" when it comes to short forms. I usually do know what they mean; but these are a mystery to me! As for not "complaining," I just figured I'd wait until I replied to someone using these forms, and just ask them what they mean. I don't believe we're the only two who don't know what on earth they mean! |

| I think I know a couple DH is dear husband or dear heart. Fl or fil is Father in law. Pt is patient. As for the many others I just skip over them as usually in later post they become identified. Tale care, best of luck and hang in there. |

I like to use FIL because I don't like typing out Father-in-law. Takes to much time and I use it a lot in my posts. -Jenny |

| Actually, one thing I like about this forum is that people use complete sentences, good grammar and spelling, and a minimum of abbreviations. Many forums are all but unreadable for anyone over 18. |
