Peter, We get depressed quite often and we get anxious a lot also. When depressed it sometimes seems We question the how come I'm feeling like this? (slow movement, stiffness, tremors, tiredness). Or We become jittery and instead of how come I'm feeling like this, We tend to question how come the medicine is not working? (When is it going to "kick-in" , how come it is not doing the job it did before? Is it time to increase the dosages?). We have different medicines here in the states ....the same class of drugs, different dosages and names but basically the same I think. I'm not a doctor and I will not even try to suggest dosing. You should call and ask Your Doctor or visit the office (again I don't know the distance involved for a visit) but I will caution not to increase or decrease without Doctor's ok. First Peter, be easy on yourself. Your life has changed, you have Parkinson's Disease. Saying this it may sound dumb, things you easily did before are harder now. There are days or parts of days when you feel like your old self and probably don't notice the tremor, slow moving or balance trouble. But there are also times You will have trouble with tremor, balance and movement. Second most of the time the medicines will not stop the tremor completely. The medicine will help to control symptoms. Unfortunately this is life with Parkinson's. Peter try the music Bob sent you. What do you enjoy? A slow walk in a park can help relax, bring some crusts of bread for the birds (I can tell you as a Parkinson's sufferer I'm really good at scattering feed for birds). Is there a museum close you can visit? I don't know how bad your tremors are, some people say reading a book relaxes them but to me reading is a cause of frustration trying to hold a book still enough to read so I personally do not recommend it, but if your tremors aren't too bad maybe it would be ok for you. Try to relax and be easy on your self when you are low Peter. I know it is hard and frightening living alone with this disease, (WARNING caregivers stop reading here! the rest is between Peter and I) but You and I at least don't having well meaning pesterers asking "how do you feel now?" every few minutes. Peter I don't know if I helped or not but please keep asking and posting my friend and take care, best of luck and hang in there.
